Norway Supercup is Norway’s largest ice hockey tournament for 13 year olds, with participation from clubs throughout the country and abroad. The Cup is being held for the sixth time in 2011 and will take place 11-13 February at three ice rinks in Asker and Bærum – two neighboring suburbs just west of Oslo. The tournament is arranged through a collaboration between the clubs Frisk Asker, Holmen and Jutul.

The tournament includes 20 teams divided into four pools. A total of 60 games are played, with each team playing one game on Friday and four on Saturday to determine the pool standings and seedings for the playoff rounds on Sunday.

Games consist of two 20 minute periods and a five minute break in between. We employ a three umpire system and follow the rules established by the Norwegian Ice Hockey Association (NIHF).

For each game, one player will be awarded “Man of the Match” for most outstanding performance. Awards for Most Points and Best Save Percentage will also be given. In addition a jury will select an All-Star Team based on the players’ performances during the final rounds on the last day of the tournament.

Practical arrangements

Lodging is provided at local hotels. We provide two types of food coupons which include up to eight meals during the tournament. Transportation to and from the ice rinks is also provided. Every team is assigned a host that will assist the team with all practical details and contact with Supercup functionaries.

Registration

The cost to register your team as a participant of Norway Supercup 2011 is 3950 Norwegian kroner. The deadline for registration is 15 October 2010. In the event more than 20 teams register within the deadline, Norway Supercup maintains the right to select which teams will be able to participate. Should this occur Norway Supercup will naturally refund the registration fee to those not selected to participate. If you have registered and cancel your registration after 15 October 2010, no refund will be given. In the event that there are still openings after the deadline, registration will then occur on a first-come, first-serve basis. Norway Supercup also reserves the right to designate a certain number of spots for teams coming from outside of Norway
