Welcome to Helsinki ringette teams!!
2012-12-28

Dear tournament guests,

I have the pleasure of welcoming U16 ringette teams from Canada, Sweden and of course Finland to Helsinki for the Finland Lions Winter Cup 2012! Our initial goal for the tournament was to attract international teams and teams from different parts of Finland, so that we could offer a very competitive event – I´m happy to say we succeeded.

The tournament will be hold at the Pirkkola sportspark, which has for long been one of the main spots for different variety of sports in Helsinki. Surrounded by the Central Park of Helsinki, it is a good visiting card for Helsinki and Finland for combining two things that are dear for Finns – forests and sports. The professional staff at Pirkkola will assist our tournament and make sure everything should work like clockwork “behind the scenes”.

The families of Helsinki Ringette C97 and C98 have worked hard planning and working with Pelimatkat to assure we can offer a memorable tournament for all players, team officials and spectators. We sincerely hope that everybody attending the tournament will respect the rules and the sportsmanship, so that we will have only happy and exciting memories to take back home with us. Please remember that everybody (including the referees) is doing their best, so let us appreciate their effort. Together, let´s make this the best tournament so far!

As ringette is slowly but surely spreading to new countries, we hope to see even more international tournaments in the future. Until then, we, the “tournament gang”, hope we can offer Finnish and Helsinki´s hospitality at its best, so that this event in Helsinki will be one of many in the forthcoming years for your team.

A warm welcome to all our guests and let the games begin!
