Tournament rules and regulations
1. Playing
The rules and regulations of Finnish Ringette Association are in use with the exceptions described below.
2. Signing of the game sheet
The team manager has to check and sign a game sheet minimum 30 minutes before the game is scheduled to start. The game sheets are to be signed in the tournament office located in the Arena building.
3. Game order
Preliminary Round
The eight C teams are divided into two groups. The teams will play according to the tournament schedule. In round-robin preliminary round each team will play against the other teams of the group.
In group A and B the teams will be placed according to their standing in the round-robin.
In all of the games the points will be given following the rule below:
- the winner gets 2 points
- draw -1 point each team
- lost game- 0 points
In case several teams end up with an equal amount of points the place will be decided as follows (in this given order):
1.Wins
2.Goal differential
3. Goals for
4. Fastest scored goal
5. Flip of a coin
If the semi-final game is tied after the regular time there will be a penalty shoot-out. For shoot-out the teams must nominate three players and the order they will shoot and if tied after the three have shot, one shooter per team will shoot until a winner has been determined. The same player is allowed to shoot once per game. However, if all players have shot once the round will start from the beginning with the same order. The team which after each pair has a leading goal is the winner.
4. Players
The players are born in 1995 or later who have an Ice Card for Finnish Ringette Association. Finnish Ringette Association has granted the foreign players a licence to play in the tournament.
Two over-aged players are allowed to play per game. The over-aged players should be marked in the team roster and game score sheet with the year when the player was born after the name of the player.
5. Referees
The referees are appointed by Southern region referee club
6. Game time
Before the game there is a two minutes warm-up .The game time in all games is 2x17 minutes running time with the last two minutes of each period being stopped time. However the total maximum game time is 40 minutes running time. There is a two minute intermission between the periods.
In the final games the game time is 2 x 23 minutes running time with the last two minutes of each period being stopped time. However the total maximum game time is 50 minutes running time.
Game sheet will be in use in each game. Time out is not allowed in any game. If the goalkeeper is injured she has to be replaced by another goalkeeper or another player. The official time of the tournament is the ice rink clock (or a replacing clock) of the Arena. 30 minutes shot clock is used and the clock starts when the team controlling the ring takes place.
If the score is tie in the final games after the regular playing time, there will be a 6 minute overtime and it will be played with running time. For shoot-out the teams must name three players and the order they will shoot. If the game is still tied after these shooters, the shooting will continue one by one. The same player is allowed to shoot once per game. However, if all players have shot once the round will start from the beginning with the same order. The team which after each pair has a leading goal is a winner.
7. Team jerseys
If two teams have jerseys of closely same colour the referee can decide that the visiting team must wear vests or jerseys with different colour. If the numbers of the vests and jerseys differ the numbers of jerseys will be used.
8. Penalties
Small penalty is 2 minutes running time in each game and major penalty is 4 minutes running time. The penalty starts when the referee whistles after the game break. If player gets two major penalties in the tournament, two misconduct penalties or game suspension penalty she will not be allowed to play in the tournament after that. The referee has the right to take actions in case a team delays the game on purpose while their player has a penalty.
9. Beginning and end of the game
Teams have to be ready 5 minutes before the game begins to make sure that the games will begin according to tournament schedule. The team that will not follow this rule will loose 10-0.
The ice will be resurfaced according to the tournament schedule. The tournament jury has right to change the schedule if required.
11. Handling of discrepancies and objections
The tournament jury will make their decisions regarding discrepancies and written objections left in the tournament office with a good and fair spirit. Any protests regarding rules etc. have to be left in the tournament office in writing 30 minutes after the game is finished. The protest fee is 50 euros which will be refunded should the objection be relevant.
12. Licences
All Finnish teams should have their ice cards or a printout from Sports Register with them and it should be shown in the tournament office if requested.
13. Accidents
There is a first aid group at the Arena. The tournament organisation will not take responsibility for the accidents during the tournament.
