Tournament Rules
All tournament games will be played in accordance with the current rules of the I.I.H.F.
with the following additions/exceptions:
A Every team must be dressed and ready to take to the ice 5 MINUTES BEFORE THE
START OF THEIR GAME.
B The first named team will be the HOME TEAM. Home teams play in light coloured shirts,
away teams in dark coloured shirts.
C The home team must take place in the players-box, which is the closest on to the gameclock.
D Only players and coaches mentioned of the Team Sheets will have access to the dressing
room. After using the dressing room, it should be left behind clean.
E All preliminary games will be of two (2x) 20 minutes periods. Between the periods there
will two minutes break (maximum time per game 1 hour 5 minutes including warming up).
F There will be 2 groups of 3 teams. All teams play each other once in the preliminary round
in their own group.
G All final round games will be of three (3x) 20 minutes periods. Between the periods there
will two minutes break (maximum time per game 1 hour 50 minutes including warming
up).
H Two (2) points for a WIN, one (1) for a DRAW.
I After the preliminary round the number one seeded will be the team who has accumulated
the most points.
J Team seeding will be calculated in descending points order.
K In the event of a tie after the games, the winner of the game played between the two tied
teams shall take preference.
L If, when apllied rule “K” still produces a TIE, goal difference will be deemed the winner.
M If, when apllied rule “L” still produces a TIE, the winner will be the team who scored the
most goals.
N If, when apllied rule “M” still produces a TIE, the team with the least penalty minutes shall
be the winner.
O If, when apllied rule “N” still produces a TIE, penalty shots will make the decision (1 per team – if still a TIE series continues with 1 per team until a winner is there).
The following penalties will apply:
P Minor penalties — 2 minutes.
Q Major penalties — 5 minutes.
R A player incurring a Game Misconduct Penalty will be excluded for the rest of the game.
In case of a 2nd Game Misconduct Penalty for the same player during the tournament
this player will be automatically suspended for the next game in the tournament.
S A player who incurs a Match Penalty will be automatically suspended for the next game
of the tournament. In case of a 2nd Match Penalty for the same player during the tournament this player will be automatically suspended for the rest of the tournament.
Format of Tournament
• There will be 2 groups of 3 teams. All teams play each other once in the preliminary round
in their own group.
• Numbers 1 and 2 of each group will play for 1st - 4th place.
• Numbers 3 of each group will play for 5th - 6th place.
• Semi finals will be 1A vs 2B and 1B vs 2A.
• Winners of the semi finals will play for 1st/2nd place. Losers will play for 3rd/4th place.
