Tournament is played
with the Finnish Ice Hockey Association C2 Junior rules with the following
specifications:
1. TEAMS AND PLAYERS
Tournament has 10 AAA+ level teams. Each team can register 20+3 players for
tournament. Changing the roster of players during the tournament shall be
permitted only in exceptional cases, with the joint authorization of the
tournament director and the director of competition. Teams are advised to bring
two separate sets of shirts, a darker and a lighter home-away game jersey.
Teams entered as the home team use a darker jersey, while the away team wears
the lighter jersey. If the team does not have two sets of shirts in use, the
team leader must reach an agreement with the opposing team regarding jersey
colors in good time before the start of their game.
2.
GAME TIME
Each game has 3x15 minutes of effective playing time. The total game time
maximum is 80 minutes running time. The first two periods are separated by one
(1) minute intermission and the second intermission is 12 minutes. Ice will be
cleaned during the second intermission. The total playing time for each game
will start as marked in the program unless otherwise specified by the
tournament management. In the final game playing time is 3x20 minutes effective
playing time. Both intermissions between periods are 12 minutes and the ice
will be cleaned during the intermission.
The team must be
ready for their game 5 minutes before the scheduled start. The match will begin
immediately after the ice is ready and the goals are in place but no earlier
than marked in the program. If a team is not ready to play when their game is
scheduled to begin according to the tournament schedule, they will be condemned
to forfeit their match 0 – 5. Time out is allowed unless the total playing time
is less than two minutes.
3.
TOURNAMENT MODE
Teams will play the
first round in two groups (A and B). All teams in their individual group play
against each other once. After the first round teams ranked in position 1 and 2
will play the play offs game against the top teams of other group (A1 vs. B2
and A2 vs. B1). Winners go to the final and losers go to the bronze medal game.
Other teams will play their last game against the team ranked in the same place
in the other group (A3 vs B3 will play for the rankings 5th and 6th etc.).
In the group stage,
winning a match brings 2 points, a draw 1 and loss 0 points. Teams are ranked
according to the number of points collected. If two or more teams end up with
the same number of points their rankings will be decided on following grounds:
1. Points between
mutual matches
2. Goal difference of
mutual matches
3. Amount of made
goals of mutual matches
4. Goal difference of
all matches
5. All the goals
scored in all matches
6. Team with the
least penalty minutes
7. Lot
If the
ranking game or bronze or final game ends in a tie, a shootout with three
players per team is performed to determine superiority. The shootout will start
after the match without a break. If there is no difference after three players
from each team have fired their penalty shots, the shootout will continue a
player at a time until goal difference arises. The first three shooters must be
a different players after that there are no limitations.
The team marked as away team will shoot first. If the shootout still continues
after three shooters the team marked as home
team shoots first. The goal that is used for the shootouts is pointed by the
referee.
4. REFEREE
Match referees for the competition are Finnish Ice Hockey Association (FIHA)
designated referees.
5. FIHA SPECIAL RULES
In this tournament, in addition to compliance with the following FIHA's
specific tournament rules:
A ten-minute
misconduct penalty is carried out normally in the penalty box. If a player gets
two ten minute penalties during one game or player gets big penalty (5+20 min),
or (20 min with unsportsmanlike conduct) he is automatically banned from the
next game.
If a player receives
a match penalty (25 min), he is automatically banned from the tournament.
In this tournament’s
disciplinary issues is used Finnish Ice Hockey Association and District area
division South rules.
6.
TOURNAMENT JURY AND PROTESTS
All protest are handled by the tournament jury, whose
decision is final. Protests shall be filed in writing within 10 minutes after
the end of the match. The protest fee is € 100, which will be returned if the
protest is accepted. The jury consists of the tournament director, competition
director and competition manager. If necessary, the jury will also
hear the match referee. The jury’s decision to approve the protest must be
unanimous. Jury is not obliged to argue its decision(s).
7.
AWARDS
The top four three teams will be awarded with a trophy and the top three ranked
teams will receive personal medals. There will be awarded with medals maximum
25 players from the team. Award ceremonies are held immediately
after the final game on the ice.
After team’s
last game one player of each team will receive the best player recognition as
selected by the team's management.
8. ACCIDENTS
The tournament organizer has NOT insured players, and is NOT responsible for
participating players for any injuries or accidents occurring during the games.
The tournament has EA Services.
9. CHANGES
The tournament organizer has the right to change the fixture, if special
reasons arise. Any such change will be notified without delay to the
participating teams.'
10. TOURNAMENT MANAGER
The tournament director is appointed by the tournament organizer.
11. CONDUCT
The behavior of the teams, players and staff must be exemplary and in the
spirit of fair play. Also, viewers are asked to act supportively and show a
good example for youth. The organizer can remove those who behave
inappropriately in the stands. For member of staff behaving inappropriately
FIHA's competition rules are applied.
12. SCORES AND ROSTERS
Tournament score service is handled electronically (announced later). On the
service match programs can be found, as well as the electronic result and match
report service.
Each team is responsible for providing the team's roster
to the service within the framework of the system. Each team must have their
own user name and password available for the entire duration of the tournament.
The changes can be made in the tournament office. If there is any change in the
team roster, team must inform the tournament office 30 minutes before the
game.
