  2. COMPETITION DATES, LOCATION AND GAME SCHEDULE
The tournament will take place in Reykjavik, Iceland on 1-6th of April, 2014. All games will be played with 2 periods by 17 minutes each according the IIHF rules. Each team plays at least 4 games in the tournament. (The Björninn Ice Hockey Club reserve rights to change tournament system, which will depend on the number of teams). The game schedule will be announced as soon as all the teams will be signed up.
  1. COMPETITON LEVEL
“AA” level teams are welcome to take part in the tournament. Players born in 2002-2003 are welcome to take part in the tournament. There is NO checking allowed.

  1. PRACTICE SCHEDULE
Depending on the game schedule and culture program, organizing committee offer the practices time for all teams up on request. 

  1. ARENA FACILITIES
Name of the ice hall: www.egilshollin.is The Tournament will be played in “Egilshöllin” Reykjavik Arena. Egilshöllin is the brand-new Reykjavik Arena - a sport facility with an Olympic-size ice surface and the most modern facilities for "Team Everyone" as bowling, billiards, gymnastic hall and golf, which is just on the side of the arena. Dressing roomsThe dressing rooms for all visiting teams will be arranged on their arrival. All the teams will be able to keep their dressing rooms for the whole tournament. Coaches´ roomsCoaches will be able to use little room in the ice arena for themselves and team meetings. The room equipped with TV and VCR. MeetingsTournament’s meetings will be taking in the press conference room in the ice arena and will be handled by organizing committee. 

  1. MEDICAL AND HOSPITAL PLAN
All participants of the tournament are required to have their own medical insurances.
  1. ACCOMMODATION PLAN
Option A. Teams will be offered “Cabin Hotel” for their accommodation. Different hotel is provided upon request.
Option B.Parents will be offered “Cabin Hotel” for their accommodation. Different hotel is provided upon request.
  1. MEAL PLAN

The teams, which have paid full registration fee with hotel accommodation, will be offered meals 3 times a day free of charge.

10. TRANSPORTATION

The organizing committee will provide with transportation from and to International Reykjavik airport and games.

  1.  REFEREE
Björninn Ice Hockey Club in cooperation with Icelandic Ice Hockey federation will provide the tournament with the head referee and linesmen. As an education part of the tournament, the referees from your association are very welcome to take part in the tournament. Contact the organizing committee in advance, so we would be able to give an opportunity to your referees participate in the tournament.

  1.  CULTURE PROGRAM
Depending on game schedule, organizing committee offer sightseeing tours for all visiting teams while their stay in Iceland (paid by visiting team, depends on the package).
  1.  AWARDS PLAN
Björninn Ice Hockey Club will hand over trophies for first, second and third place.Also organizing committee will give awards to:- Best player of each team, “Top scorer” and MVP of the tournament

  1.  TOURNAMENT FEES

Please, contact the organizing commettee for the torunament fees.

  1. REGISTRATION
You are welcome to sign up your team on our website at www.icelandhockeycup.com . Your team will be posted on our website and you will be asked to fill up an official fill able registration form. As soon as more then 6 teams are signed up for the tournament, all the teams will be asked to make a tournament participation fee at 30 USD per person. This will secure your spot in the tournament.


Maximum of 8 teams will be accepted for each age group in the tournament.Contact the organizing committee regarding the rest of the payments.Travel costs: visiting teams must take care of their own travel to Reykjavik and back. Suggested airlines are: “Icelandair” www.icelandair.is , “IcelandExpress” www.icelandexpress.is , British Airways (for England), SAS (Norway).Extra excursions (on the request) are to be paid by the visiting team.
  1. IMPORTANT DATES
In order to keep an organization of our tournament on a high professional level, we, an organizing committee, are asking all the teams to follow all important dates, listed bellow: 
15th of December, 2013 – all registration forms must be sent to the tournament 
15th of February, 2014 – ‘team roster’ with full names, D.O.B. and positions must be handed in by this time. Also, we are asking to provide organizing committee with digital team picture and individual pictures of all players and coaches. 
2-3th of April, 2014 – date of arrival 
6-7th of April, 2011 – departure date
