FINLAND LIONS CUP 2010
TOURNAMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS
AGE GROUP 1996

12 teams will participate in the tournament. The teams will play in two groups, each group consisting of six teams in the round robin preliminary round.

Winning a match will give two points and for an even game each team will get one point. In case several teams end up with an equal amount of points the place will be decided as follows (in this given order):

1. Goal differential
3. Head to head game
4. Goals for
5. Flip of a coin

If a team fails to be ready to start the game according to the schedule, the team will be judged as defeated by 5-0.

Placement games will be played as follows:

A1 vs B2
A2 vs B1

Winner A1/B2 vs Winner A2/B1
Loser A1 / B2 vs loser A2/ B1
Third of Group A vs third of group B etc.

If the games are tied after regular time a penalty shoot-out will follow with three players of each team and if tied after the three have shot and not scored, one shooter per team will shoot until a winner has been determined.

The games will be 2x20 minutes stopped time with maximum total time of 65 minutes. Intermission between the periods is one minute.
No time-outs are allowed.

Ice will be resurfaced after each game.

RULES
The Finnish Ice Hockey Federation tournament regulations for age group D 96 are being applied.

Misconduct penalty or game game penalty will be followed by 1 game suspension
Game suspension will automatically be followed by exclusion from the tournament..

After scoring celebrating is allowed only the players who are on the ice at the time of scoring. If other players enter the ice there is a penalty given for delaying the game.

TEAMS
The teams shall consist of no more than 20 players and two goalkeepers/team per game.
The team roster changes must be provided to the tournament office 30 minutes before each game. Players can represent only 1 team in the tournament.

REWARDING THE TEAMS
The three best teams in the tournament will receive medals (max 25/team). The best team will be rewarded by the trophy.

INSURANCE
The organizers of the tournament will not take responsibility for any injuries that occur. Every player must have a valid hockey license or insurance.

REFEREES
The games will be officiated by SJL authorized referees.

CHANGES IN SCHEDULES
The organizers of the tournament have the right to make changes in schedules and game times if required.

THE TOURNAMENT JURY & OBJECTIONS
The committee consists of 3 tournament managers. Written objections should be made within thirty (30) minutes after end of the game. The objection fee is 100 Euros, which will be refunded should the objection be relevant.
