Telemark Trophy Tournament
Tournament is played with the IIHF’s rules1, with the following
specifications:
1. TEAMS AND PLAYERS
Tournament with is hosted for U16 AAA teams and players. With
each participating player born between 01.01.2001 and
31.12.2003. Each team can report to the tournament game
maximum 22+3 players. Teams should have two separate sets of
playing jerseys, a darker and a lighter colored ones, one for both
home and away games. In accordance with the tournament
Program2, the teams entered as the home team use a darker
jersey, while the away team wears the lighter jersey. Changing the
roster of players during the tournament shall be permitted only in
exceptional cases, with the joint authorization of the Tournament
Director (See 10.). If the team does not have two sets of shirts in
use, the team leader must reach an agreement with the opposing
team regarding jersey colors in good time before the start of their
game.
2. GAME TIME
The following game and play time apply to all tournament games,
including the All Star Game (AS), with the exception of the Final
game (game nr. 15).
Each tournament game lasts 3*15 minutes of effective playing time,
the total playtime for a single game maxing out at 75 minutes. The
first and the second periods are separated by a single two (2)
minute intermission. The second and the third periods are
separated by a single 15 minute intermission, during which the
playing ice surface is maintained.
If time is insufficient to complete three full periods (3*15 minutes)
the game ends as 75 minutes of total playtime is reached. Teams

will be informed of the impending termination of the game three (3)
minutes
before the playtime ends.
The game time is continuous, with no stoppage of time for game
stoppage - e.g. penalty calls, face-offs etc. If the score is within
two (2) goals difference within the final three (3) minutes of game
time, the game shall switch to stop-time. Both teams are allowed
to use a single 30 second time-out during the game.
All intentions to “decreasing play time remaining” from the behalf of
the leading team, shall be penalized by the game officials, as
attempts of delaying the game, with a single minor penalty for the
team with the attempt. Such intentions include as: three
consecutive icing attempts in equal strength play, by the leading
team, with out being under pressure; or using unnecessary time to
set up for a face-off.
The total playtime for each game will start as marked in the
Program, unless otherwise specified by the Tournament Director.
The Final game (game nr. 15) is played with regular 3*20 minute,
stop time, with 15 minute ice maintenance in between periods.
3. GAME READINESS
The team must be ready for their game five (5) minutes ahead of its
scheduled start. The match will begin immediately after the ice is
ready, and the goals are in their place but, no earlier than marked in
the Program. If a team is not ready to play when their game is
scheduled to begin according to the tournament schedule, they will
be condemned to forfeit their match 5–0.
4.
TOURNAMENT MODE
Teams play a simple round robin preliminary series, with four (4)
games each team followed by qualification rounds and medalgames.
Preliminary series
Winning a match brings 2 points, a draw 1 and loss 0 points. Each
team playing two goalkeepers during a game, with each

goalkeeper playing at least for a full single period, is to be awarded
an additional Bonus Point for the played game. Teams are ordered
according to the number of points collected.
If two or more teams end up with the same number of points their
order will be decided on following grounds:
1. Score of mutual matches
2. Goal difference of mutual matches
3. Amount of made goals
4. Goal difference of all matches
5. All the goals scored in all matches
6. Lot
Qualification rounds
After the preliminary round, a total of a single Quarter Final (QF)
and two Semi Finals (SF) shall be played.
The QF shall be played between the fourth and fifth placed teams
from the preliminary round (game nr. 11). The two SF games
(games nr. 12 and 13) shall be played amongst the teams finishing
first, second and third from the preliminary round, as well as the
winner of the QF game.
The Bronze game (game nr. 14) is to be played between the loosing
teams of the SF games. The Final (game nr. 15) between the
winning teams of the SF games.
If the Qualification round games (games nr. 11, 12, 13, 14, 15) end
in a tie, a shootout with three players per team is performed to
determine superiority. Following a draw, the shootout will start after
the match without a break. If there is no difference after three
players from each team have fired their penalty shots, the shootout
will continue a player at a time until goal difference arises. The first
three shooters must be a different players after that no limitations.

5. REFEREE
Match referees for this competition are Norwegian Ice Hockey
Association (NIHF) designated referees, as well as junior referees.
6. TOURNAMENT SPECIAL RULES
A normal small penalty is 2 minute effective playing time. Should a
player receive 4 small penalties he is automatically banned from
the game. A ten-minute misconduct penalty is carried out normally
in the penalty box. If a player gets two ten minute penalties during
one game or player gets big penalty (5+20 min), or (20 min with
unsportsmanlike conduct) he is automatically banned from the next
game. If a player receives a match penalty (25 min), tournament
jury is legitimate to ban player from the tournament.
All major penalties are reported to the NIHF.
7. TOURNAMENT JURY AND PROTESTS
All protest are handled by the Tournament Jury (Jury), whose
decision is final. Protests shall be filed in writing within 10 minutes
after the end of the match. The protest fee is € 100, which will be
returned if the protest is accepted. The jury consists of the
Tournament Director and the Tournament Secretary. If necessary,
the Jury will also hear the match referee. The Jury’s decision to
approve the protest must be unanimous. Jury is not obliged to
argue its decision(s).
8. AWARDS
The top three ranked teams in each series will receive a prize.
Award ceremonies are held immediately after the Final game on the
ice.
9. ACCIDENTS
The tournament organizer has NOT insured players, and NOT
responsible for participating players for any injuries or accidents
occurring during the games. The tournament has EA Services.
10. CHANGES

The tournament organizer has the right to change the fixture, if
special reasons arise. Any such change will be notified without
delay to the participating teams.

12. CONDUCT
The behavior of the teams, players and staff must be exemplary
and in the spirit of fair play. Also, viewers are asked to act
supportively and show children a good example. The organizer can
remove those who behave inappropriately in the stands. For
member of staff behaving inappropriately NIHF competition rules
are applied.
13. SCORES AND ROSTERS
Tournament score service is handled electronically on
www.cuponline.se. On the service match Programs can be found,
as well as the electronic result and match report service.
Each team is responsible for providing the team’s roster to the
service within the framework of the system. Each team must have
their own user name and password available for the entire duration
of the tournament. The changes can be made in the tournament
office. If there is change in the team roster, team must inform 30
min prior the game tournament office of the change.
14. ALL STAR GAME
During the Tournament, a special All Star exhibition game is to take
place. The game follows the same game time and play time
regulations, as the preliminary round games. The following players
are to be invited to the event:
- top goal scorer of the Tournament preliminary round

- three top point scorers of each team, not including the two
previously mentioned
- four highest SV% providing goalkeepers of the Tournament
- two freely nominated players by each team, by the Team Leader
