TOURNAMENT RULES & REGULATIONS

1. TOURNAMENT CHIEF

2. TOURNAMENT AND REGISTRATION
This tournament is an invitational tournament for two age group U16 and U19.
The team managers are to report at the tournament office situated at the arena (second floor/back of the cafeteria) at least 45 minutes before the team’s first game.

3. MATCH RECORD
The team manager have to sign each match record at the tournament office at least 30 minutes before the game. The referees will approve and sign the record after each game at the official’s desk.

4. TOURNAMENT RULES
The games shall be played according to the rules and regulations of the Rinkball and Ringette Finland (SKRL) including the additions and clarifications below.

5. START OF THE GAMES
The teams have to be ready to go on ice 5 minutes before the scheduled starting time. If the team is not ready at scheduled starting time, it will be judge d lose the game by 5-0.

6. STARTING OF THE GAME AND THE JERSEYS
The team marked as the visiting team in the game schedule will start the game. If the jerseys of both teams are the same color, the visitors have to change its jerseys.

7. GAME TIME
- U16 games 2 x 15 min. (stop-clock timing), but maximum 50 minutes. The placement games (games 16-18)
last 2 x 20min. (stop-clock timing), but maximum 65 minutes.
- U19 games 2 x 20 min. (stop-clock timing), but maximum 65 minutes.
The last 2 minutes of total game time will be announced. There is 2 minutes break at the half.
Time-outs are not allowed, except the final game (game 18(U16) and 20(U19). In these games both teams are allowed one 30 second lasting time-out.

8. PLAYERS
The tournament can be attented:
- U16 girls born 2001 or later and they have to possess the IceCard (Finnish ringette license, so it does not apply to Canadian players). Max.1 year over-aged players (2000) are allowed to play in the tournament. Max. 2 players born in 2000 can be named in the match record.
- U19 girls born 1998 or later and they have to possess the IceCard (Finnish ringette license, so it does not apply to Canadian players). Max.1 year over-aged players (1997) are allowed to play in the tournament. Max. 2 players born in 1997 can be named in the match record.
- Over-ages players must be marked in the match record by the year of birth.
A player is allowed to play for another team if she has a permission from her own team.
Head of tournament can after special request give a player permission to play in the tournament.

9. PENALTIES
A minor penalty is 2 minutes and a major penalty is 4 minutes stop-clock timing. The penalty will start when the referee starts the game again.
If a player gets two major penalties in the tournament, two penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct or for improper behavior, or game penalty she will be immediately suspended from the tournament.

10. TOURNAMENT SYSTEM
- 6 teams in U16 tournament. The teams will play against each other in the preliminary round according to
the tournament schedule.
A team gets 2 points for a win, 1 point for draw and 0 point for loss.
Placement game 5-6 will played by the teams which are 5th and 6th in the preliminary round. Placement game 3-4 will played by the teams which are 3rd and 4th in the preliminary round. Placement game 1-2 will played by the teams which are 1st and 2nd in the preliminary round.

- 8 teams in U19 tournament with two pools, Finnish (FIN) and Canadians (CAN). In the preliminary round the pools will play against each other (FIN vs. CAN) according to the tournament schedule.
A team gets 2 points for a win, 1 point for draw and 0 point for loss. After preliminary round placement game 7-8 will played by the teams which are 4th in their own pool (FIN/CAN)
Placement game 5-6 will played by the teams which are 3rd in the preliminary round. Placement game 3-4 will played by the teams which are 2nd in the preliminary round. Placement game 1-2 will played by the teams which are 1st in the preliminary round

11. POINTS AND STANDINGS
Teams get 2 points for a win, 1 point for draw and 0 point for loss.
If the points are even after preliminary round following rules will apply:

12. PLACEMENT GAMES
If the Placement game (U16: games 16-18 / U19: games 17-20) end in a tie, a shoot-out for 3 players from both teams will take place immediately. If the teams are still tied after that, one shooter per team shall continue until either team wins. Same player cannot shoot, before all the players in the team have shot. The referee will draw the team, which will begin the shoot-out. A player cannot participate in the shoot-out if her penalty has not ended before.

13. TROPHIES
Three best teams both U16 and U19 tournament will be awarded by medals and the best teams will be awarded by trophies. One MVP (Most Valuable Player) will be awarded from each team. Teams have to inform the bench of officials latest 5 minutes before the last game about the name of the MVP player.

14. PROTEST
Notification of a protest with 100 euros must be received max.15 minutes after the end of the game. The tournament jury will refund the fee if the protest is upheld.

15. TOURNAMENT JURY
The jury consists of tournament manager and two referees.

16. INSURANCE
The organisers of the tournament are not responsible of any accidents or damages in the games and all player must have valid insurance and IceCard (Finnish players).

17. FIRST AID
There is a first aid person present at the arena.

18. CODE OF CONCUCT
Team leaders, coaches and trainers are not tolerated to criticize the referees and the spectators should show spirit of fair play.
