Livechannel Cup
Curling
10 - 12 okt 2014
Juniortävling

The Tournament is played according to the World Curling Federation or EJCT rules, including 4-rock rule. All matches are played over 8 ends with max. 1 extra end. If the game is tied at the end of regular play (8 ends), one extra end will be played. If the game is tied after the extra end, the team without the hammer in the extra end wins the game. Teams with registered coaches have the right to take one time-out during the game, and one during any extra end.

First team on the draw has first practice with red stones. Each team has a 5 minute practice before the game. After the 5 minute practice there will be a LSD (last stone draw) to determine the hammer in the first end. The first practice starts 20 minutes before the game and the second practice starts 10 minutes before the game.

Jr. Men will play a round robin in 2 groups of 6 teams and Jr. Women will play a round robin in 2 groups of 4 and 5 teams.

TEAM RANKING PROCEDURE

No tiebreakers will be played!

The following criteria (in order) will be used to rank the teams at the completion of the round robin:

(i) Teams will be ranked according to their win/loss record.

(ii) If two teams are tied, the team that won their round robin game will be ranked higher.

(iii) Where three or more teams are tied, the record of the games between the tied teams shall provide the ranking (should this procedure provide a ranking for some teams but not all, then the record of the games between the remaining teams that are still tied shall determine the ranking)

(iv) For all remaining teams whose ranking cannot be determined by (i) or (ii) or (iii), ranking is determined using the Draw Shot Challenge (DSC). The DSC is the average distance of the Last Stone Draws (LSD) which were played by a team during the round robin portion of a competition. The single least favourable LSD result is automatically

eliminated before calculating this average distance. The team with the lesser DSC receives the higher ranking. If the DSCs are equal, then the team with the best non-equal LSD receives the higher ranking. In case all LSDs are equal, the team ranked higher in the WCF World Rankings is ranked higher.

The highest ranked teams in both Jr. Women and Jr. Men groups are directly qualified for the semi final. Teams ranked second and third in the groups will play a Q-final game to determine the second finalist for the semi final.
